STEGMILLER'S SECOND GENERATION CAMARO: 1970-1981

RALLY SPORT

From 1970 to 1973, Rally sport was RPO Z22, a trim package that gave these early second generation Camaros a look all their own. The frond end had a two-piece split bumper with special black painted grille that had a rubber tipped center bar and urethane body colored grille frame on the center section, the license plate was below the passenger side bumper, and special round parking lights on the header panel completed the unique front end. Hideaway wipers with black arms were standard. RS emblem on steering wheel & grille, and Rally Sport front fender nameplates identified the car, unless SS or Z28 were ordered, in which case, the emblems from these packages took priority.

1974 had no Rally Sport option.

From 1975 to 1977, Rally Sport was RPO Z85, again a trim option, but this time without the special front end pieces of the earlier cars. These Rally Sport cars had a black painted hood with special RS striping, and special wheels.

1978 to 1980 saw the Rally Sport as a separate model instead of an RPO. Striping and hood treatment was similar to the 1975 to 1977 version. 1981 had no Rally Sport.
